The Healing Balm – Part 2

“Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security.” – Jeremiah 33:6 (NIV)

There are spiritual disorders and spiritual diseases that can cause intense suffering. God, however, wants us to enjoy peace and security once we follow His precepts and honour Him above all.

Conversely, the first thing a doctor does with a wound is to clean it. He gets rid of all foreign matter and drains off infection – however much it hurts. Likewise, sometimes the spirit needs cleaning, it needs a revival. We may have fallen away. Once this is recognised, the healing Balm should be the first treatment sought. The healing Balm Jesus, Who has the power to soothe and heal the wounds of the soul – to restore as new.

The Psalmist in Psalm 103:2-3 (NIV) praised God by declaring, “Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all His benefits – Who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases”. We have an example to follow in honouring God and being obedient to His Word. Once we humble ourselves to His teachings and put them into practice, we have every chance of being restored and receiving many other benefits that He has stored up for us.

James 5:15 (NIV) also tells us, “And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven.” What an awesome God we serve. The healing Balm is still present and available to you today. Turn from those dark and stressful moments, commit to God, praise Him and receive your healing this day.

Prayer

Heavenly Father I thank You that You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. I honour You, I magnify Your name, be Thou exalted for there is none like You. I thank You for providing healing for our sick bodies. I praise You and bless Your matchless name. Thank You for forgiving all my sins and healing all my diseases. My soul will praise You and not forget Your benefits. Thank You for redeeming me from the pit of hell and crowning me with love and compassion. Thank You, Father God, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
